There comes a turning point in time, where every project needs to look back at where we began and take stock of what we have learned. As we approach our Kickstarter Crowdfunding Campaign kickoff on March 1st, it is important for us to share the story with you.
In June 2013, a morning coffee with a fellow military spouse and a playdate for our kids turned into an incredible business adventure and life long friendship. Meegan Mackay shared her vision of helping others to set goals, assess resources, pursue achievement, and empower others to do the same. Kate Brough asked, “so when are you going to do it? Let’s make a plan,” and Artes pro Vita Academy was born.
As military spouses, we were stationed in a small town in Southwestern Oklahoma. Changes in the active duty environment began to shift due to downsizing military forces and budget restrictions within the US Government. Our lives and those around us began to become effected by a forced transition for all. With the program in the beginning stages of development, AVA presented workshops to military personnel in transition to civilian life. From professionalism and soft skills development, to goal setting and pursuit, our program began Phase I, Research and Development as a support to the military in transition.
Over the course of the last 18 months, AVA has grown, bringing in new knowledge, experiences, and support to empower people in all areas, ages, and stages of life. Presentations have been prepared and presented to children, tweens, teens, adults, and seniors in the private, public, and corporate sectors. We believe that learning is elemental to people of all ages. Transition, whether by choice or which is thrust upon us, is a part of every persons life, and with Skills for L.I.F.E. these periods of change can become opportunities for excellence and personal growth.
We are ready to take our program and present it to a broader population through the internet, available 24/7, through videos, worksheets, and online webinars. We ask for your support in our Kickstarter campaign to make our dream of helping others achieve their dreams come true.
